In Pixar's Cars 3, which NASCAR legend voices the veteran racer River Scott?
Answer
Isiah Whitlock Jr.
In Pixar's Cars 3, Isiah Whitlock Jr. voices the veteran racer River Scott.
River Scott is one of the historic racers shown in the film's flashback material. His career helps expand the fictional history of stock-car racing beyond the better-known modern champions in the Cars world.
The voice casting can be easy to confuse with the real racing figures who appear elsewhere in the franchise. Isiah Whitlock Jr. is an actor, while several former NASCAR drivers—including Richard Petty and Darrell Waltrip—voice other Cars characters.
Cars 3 uses these veteran figures to connect Lightning McQueen's career to earlier generations. The film's racing history therefore mixes fictional drivers with performances by people associated with real motorsport.
