In Pixar’s Cars 3, which actress provides the voice of Cruz Ramirez?

In Pixar’s Cars 3, Cristela Alonzo provides the voice of Cruz Ramirez.

Cruz Ramirez is a high-performance trainer at the Rust-eze Racing Center who initially helps Lightning McQueen prepare for a new generation of racers. She is designed as a bright yellow sports car and works with McQueen during his attempt to compete with the younger, faster Jackson Storm.

The character’s role develops beyond that of a trainer. As the story progresses, Cruz demonstrates that she has racing ability of her own. Her arc becomes an important part of the film’s themes about mentorship, confidence, changing careers, and making room for new competitors.

Cristela Alonzo is an American comedian, actress, writer, and producer. Cars 3 marked a major voice-acting role for her in a Pixar feature. The character is sometimes mistakenly associated with other animated heroines voiced by well-known comedy performers, but Cruz Ramirez’s English-language voice is specifically Alonzo’s.
