Jackson Storm is the rookie rival challenging Lightning McQueen in Pixar’s Cars 3.
Storm represents a new generation of racers built around advanced technology, data analysis, and highly optimized training. His arrival makes Lightning’s older racing style look outdated, and Storm quickly becomes the dominant competitor on the Piston Cup circuit.
Armie Hammer provides Jackson Storm’s voice. The character’s dark, angular design contrasts with Lightning McQueen’s familiar red body and expressive eyes. Storm’s confidence and dismissive attitude create the main competitive conflict in the film.
Jackson Storm should not be confused with Chick Hicks, Lightning’s aggressive rival in the first Cars film, or Cal Weathers, a racer connected to the Dinoco team in Cars 3. Cars 3 focuses on the transition between generations, with Lightning eventually helping Cruz Ramirez develop into the next racing star.
