Jackson Storm is the high-tech racer threatening Lightning McQueen's career in Pixar's Cars 3 (2017).
Storm represents a new generation of racers built around advanced technology, data, and modern training methods. His speed and confidence make Lightning appear outdated, leading Lightning to seek help from Cruz Ramirez at the Rust-eze Racing Center.
Armie Hammer voices Jackson Storm. The character's sleek black design and blue accents contrast with Lightning's older racing identity, emphasizing the film's theme of competition between established champions and emerging athletes.
Cars 3 was directed by Brian Fee and released in 2017. Rather than focusing on international espionage like Cars 2, it returns to a more personal racing story centered on Lightning's future and the possibility of passing knowledge to another racer.
