In Pixar's Cars 2, who is the weapons expert known as Professor Z?

In Pixar's Cars 2, the weapons expert known as Professor Z is Professor Zündapp.

Professor Zündapp is a central member of the conspiracy involving the World Grand Prix. He is an elderly German car modeled on a Zündapp Janus, a small vehicle produced by the German motorcycle manufacturer Zündapp during the 1950s. The character's full name and design connect him to that real automotive history.

The film initially presents the plot through international espionage, with British agent Finn McMissile investigating a mysterious operation. Mater becomes involved after being mistaken for an American spy. Professor Zündapp helps develop the plan involving Allinol and electromagnetic pulse devices.

His name is often shortened to Professor Z in dialogue and merchandise. That shortened form is understandable, but Professor Zündapp is the specific character name used for the answer.
