Miles Axlerod is secretly behind the plot to sabotage the World Grand Prix in Pixar’s Cars 2.

Axlerod presents himself as a former oil baron who has become an electric-car advocate. He promotes Allinol, a supposedly clean alternative fuel, and uses the World Grand Prix to advertise it to a global audience.

The film later reveals that Axlerod is the mastermind. The sabotage is designed to make Allinol appear dangerous, discredit alternative fuel, and encourage renewed dependence on petroleum. His plan also exploits the race cars’ vulnerabilities through a device that triggers violent reactions.
