Miles Axlerod is revealed as the mastermind behind the plot against alternative fuel in Pixar's Cars 2.
Axlerod presents himself as the organizer of the World Grand Prix and promotes Allinol, an alternative fuel. The film later reveals that he is secretly connected to the conspiracy using electromagnetic pulses to make the fuel appear dangerous and damage public confidence.
The character is voiced by Eddie Izzard. His identity is concealed for much of the story, which is why he can be confused with Professor Zündapp, a scientist and major conspirator but not the central mastermind.
Cars 2 combines the World Grand Prix with a spy narrative. Its villains aim to manipulate the race and the fuel controversy for their own benefit.
