In Pixar's Cars 2, which Italian racer competes against Lightning McQueen in the World Grand Prix?

In Pixar's Cars 2, the Italian racer who competes against Lightning McQueen in the World Grand Prix is Francesco Bernoulli. He is a Formula One-inspired open-wheel car and one of the film's most prominent racers.

Francesco is introduced as McQueen's confident rival, emphasizing his speed, international fame, and previous success. Their rivalry provides the sporting storyline while Mater's mistaken identity drives the film's spy adventure.

Francesco is voiced by John Turturro in the English-language version. He should not be confused with Lewis Hamilton, who appears as an English-speaking character associated with the British team, or with other World Grand Prix racers from Japan, Germany, and France.
