In Pixar’s Cars 2, Holley Shiftwell is revealed as spy Finn McMissile’s partner.

Holley Shiftwell is a British spy and intelligence agent stationed in Tokyo. She works with Finn McMissile to investigate the conspiracy surrounding the World Grand Prix, the mysterious attacks on racers, and the weaponized use of Allinol. Emily Mortimer voices Holley, while Michael Caine voices Finn.

Holley initially mistakes Mater for the American agent she is meant to meet. Mater’s misunderstanding of spy language creates much of the film’s comic tension, but his observations eventually help expose the plot. Holley is equipped with surveillance technology, disguises, and other spy tools.

Holley is not Sally Carrera, Lightning McQueen’s girlfriend from Radiator Springs. Sally is a Porsche and a lawyer, whereas Holley is an intelligence operative created for Cars 2’s international espionage storyline.
