Miles Axlerod is revealed as the mastermind behind the sabotage in Pixar’s Cars 2.
Axlerod presents himself as a former oil baron who became an electric vehicle. He organizes the World Grand Prix to promote Allinol, a supposedly clean alternative fuel, while secretly arranging attacks that make the fuel appear dangerous.
The plot uses a spy-film structure, with British agent Finn McMissile and rookie field agent Holley Shiftwell investigating the conspiracy. Mater becomes involved after being mistaken for an American intelligence operative. The eventual reveal identifies Axlerod as the hidden leader rather than merely a wealthy race organizer.
Cars 2 was released in 2011 and was Pixar’s first sequel to Cars. Its international locations include Tokyo, Porto Corsa, and London. The film shifts attention from Lightning McQueen’s personal journey toward espionage, racing, and a global conspiracy involving alternative energy.
