In Pixar’s Cars 2, the villain Professor Z’s surname is Zündapp.
Professor Zündapp is an eccentric German weapons designer who works with the criminals behind the plot to manipulate the World Grand Prix. He is voiced in the English version by Thomas Kretschmann. The character’s name references Zündapp, a German motorcycle and machinery company founded in 1917.
Cars 2 expands the series beyond Radiator Springs into an international spy adventure. Mater becomes involved with secret agents Finn McMissile and Holley Shiftwell while Lightning McQueen competes in races in Japan, Italy, and England. Professor Zündapp is part of the film’s larger conspiracy involving a new fuel and a broadcast device.
