In Pixar's Cars 2, Acer is the villainous weapons expert working with Professor Zündapp.
Acer is an unreliable-looking green AMC Pacer who serves the film's criminal conspiracy. Along with Grem, he helps carry out attacks designed to make Allinol appear dangerous and to manipulate public opinion about alternative fuel. His role combines henchman comedy with the movie's spy-thriller plot.
Professor Zündapp is the mastermind's technical associate, while Miles Axlerod secretly directs the larger scheme. Because the villains are introduced among several international racers, spies, and secret agents, their names can be easy to mix up.
Acer and Grem are especially notable as visual examples of cars that were mocked or regarded as unpopular in their real-world automotive history. Cars 2 uses those recognizable shapes to create an eccentric group of antagonists.
