In Pixar’s Cars 2, what is the name of the Italian racer who competes against Lightning McQueen?

Francesco Bernoulli is the Italian racer who competes against Lightning McQueen in Pixar’s Cars 2. He is a Formula-style champion and one of the headline competitors in the World Grand Prix.

Francesco is designed as a fast, theatrical rival who enjoys attention and confidently promotes his own superiority. His rivalry with McQueen helps establish the competitive side of the sequel, while Mater’s accidental involvement with international spies supplies the film’s second major storyline.

The World Grand Prix takes place in Tokyo, Porto Corsa, and London. Francesco represents Italy at the Porto Corsa race, where the competitors drive on a coastal circuit. He should not be confused with Miguel Camino, the Spanish racer, or Lewis Hamilton, the British voice performer and character connected with the World Grand Prix. Francesco’s exaggerated personality and red-and-white design make him one of Cars 2’s most recognizable new racers.
