In Pixar's Cars 2, what is the name of the Italian race car who challenges Lightning McQueen?

Francesco Bernoulli is the Italian race car who challenges Lightning McQueen in Pixar's Cars 2.

Francesco is a Formula One-style open-wheel racer and one of the headline competitors in the World Grand Prix. He is confident, theatrical, and highly competitive, presenting himself as Lightning's most important rival. His design and personality reflect the international focus of the sequel.

The character races in the events held in Tokyo, Porto Corsa, and London. Lightning and Francesco's rivalry is part of the public sporting story, while Mater's parallel adventure uncovers a plot involving modified race cars, alternative fuel, and espionage.

Francesco is voiced by John Turturro in the English version. He should not be confused with Shu Todoroki, the Japanese racer, or Max Schnell, the German racer. Lewis Hamilton also appears as a World Grand Prix competitor and voices a character based on himself, but he is not Francesco.
