In Pixar's Cars 2, what is the name of the Italian Formula One-style racer?

In Pixar's Cars 2, the Italian Formula One-style racer is Francesco Bernoulli. He is Lightning McQueen's principal rival in the World Grand Prix and competes with confidence bordering on arrogance.

Francesco grew up racing on the Monza circuit in Italy, where he became a celebrated champion. His sleek open-wheel design and strong record make him a significant contrast to Lightning, whose racing background comes from American stock-car competition.

John Turturro provides Francesco's voice in the English version. The character's rivalry with Lightning supplies much of the sports-comedy plot, while Mater's mistaken identity drives the film's espionage storyline.
