Miles Axlerod secretly leads the plot against the World Grand Prix in Pixar's Cars 2.
Axlerod presents himself as a former oil tycoon who became an electric car and organized the World Grand Prix. His public image supports the film's central energy debate, but his real plan is to use a dangerous fuel and manipulate the races for political and commercial purposes.
The conspiracy involves the lemons, a group of historically unsuccessful cars, and Professor Zündapp. Their actions create international danger and cause Mater to investigate after he is wrongly treated as a spy.
Axlerod's identity is revealed near the end of the film. Finn McMissile and Holley Shiftwell are heroic British agents, not the mastermind, while Zündapp is an important accomplice rather than the principal villain.
