Professor Otto Zündapp is the chief scientist and one of the principal villains behind the conspiracy involving World Grand Prix competitors. He works with the criminal organization using modified Allinol and helps develop the electromagnetic weapon used against cars.
The character is designed as a small, old-fashioned German vehicle. His name evokes German engineering and the real Zündapp company, which manufactured motorcycles and other products in Germany during the twentieth century.
His name is easy to confuse with the film’s British spy characters, especially Finn McMissile and Holley Shiftwell. Those characters investigate the conspiracy, while Zündapp is connected to the operation they are trying to expose.
