In Pixar’s Cars 2, the World Grand Prix consists of three races.
The competition begins in Tokyo, continues in Porto Corsa, Italy, and concludes in London. Lightning McQueen enters the event as an international challenger, while Francesco Bernoulli is his most prominent on-track rival. The three-stop structure gives the film a clear travel progression and places the racing plot alongside Mater’s spy adventure.
The World Grand Prix should not be confused with the Piston Cup, the domestic racing championship central to the first Cars film. Cars 2 expands the series from American stock-car culture to a fictional global competition inspired by multiple forms of motorsport. The final London event becomes especially important because the conspiracy surrounding Allinol and the race cars reaches its climax there.
