In Pixar's Cars 2 (2011), the British spy car assigned to investigate the World Grand Prix sabotage is Finn McMissile.
Finn is an experienced secret agent who arrives in Tokyo while investigating an international conspiracy. He initially believes that American spy Rod Redline has uncovered information about a dangerous plot. After Redline disappears, Finn continues the investigation and eventually encounters Mater, whose accidental observations make him useful to the case.
The film combines racing with a spy-adventure structure inspired by classic espionage movies. Finn uses gadgets, disguises, and advanced equipment while traveling between the World Grand Prix locations. His sophistication contrasts with Mater's rustic appearance and improvised approach, but the two become effective partners.
