Porto Corsa is the Italian World Grand Prix circuit in Pixar's Cars 2 (2011).
The race takes place on a fictional coastal course modeled on the visual character of the Italian Riviera. Cars speed through a seaside setting, narrow streets, and historic-looking architecture, giving the middle section of the film a distinct European atmosphere.
Porto Corsa is the second World Grand Prix venue. Tokyo hosts the first race, while London hosts the final event. Keeping those three locations in order helps distinguish Porto Corsa from the other international settings.
Radiator Springs is the fictional American town central to the first Cars film, and Carburetor County is its surrounding county. Neither is the Italian circuit. The name Porto Corsa combines an Italian-sounding port reference with “corsa,” the Italian word for race.
