In Pixar's Cars 2 (2011), Finn McMissile is the British spy who recruits Mater.

Finn is an experienced intelligence agent voiced by Michael Caine. He initially mistakes Mater for an undercover American operative after seeing him near a secret exchange in Tokyo.

The character is designed as a classic British espionage car, with gadgets, hidden weapons, and a refined manner. His name echoes the missile and spy imagery associated with earlier spy films, while his appearance recalls several British grand touring and sports cars.

Holley Shiftwell is another British intelligence agent and works with Finn during the investigation. Professor Zündapp is one of the villains, so he is not the spy who recruits Mater. Cars 2 uses the spy-thriller structure as its main genre framework.
