In "Parks and Recreation", who hosts the local Pawnee talk show "Pawnee Today"?

In "Parks and Recreation," Joan Callamezzo hosts the local Pawnee talk show "Pawnee Today."

Joan is played by Mo Collins and serves as one of Pawnee’s most prominent media personalities. Her program combines the format of a local news magazine and a daytime talk show, allowing the series to parody sensational television journalism and celebrity-style interviews.

Joan frequently turns minor municipal controversies into dramatic news events. She is especially interested in scandal, gossip, and the most damaging possible interpretation of a story. Leslie Knope considers Joan a powerful figure in Pawnee and once describes her as someone who effectively “runs this town,” even though Leslie often hijacks the show when she appears as a guest.

One memorable appearance occurs during the "Christmas Scandal" storyline, when Leslie goes on "Pawnee Today" to deny allegations involving Councilman Bill Dexhart. Joan’s exaggerated presentation reflects the show’s broader joke that Pawnee’s local media treats every personal dispute like a national crisis. A common mix-up is confusing Joan with Shauna Malwae-Tweep, who is a newspaper reporter rather than the host of the talk show.
