In “Parks and Recreation,” the upscale restaurant Tom Haverford opens is Tom’s Bistro.
Tom creates the restaurant after leaving several failed ventures behind, including Entertainment 720 and Rent-A-Swag. His entrepreneurial confidence often exceeds his business planning, but Tom’s Bistro becomes a genuine success and eventually gives him the polished restaurant-owner identity he has always wanted.
The restaurant is especially important in the show’s later timeline. Tom reunites with Lucy, who moves back to Pawnee and works at the Bistro; the two eventually become engaged. In the series finale’s flash-forwards, Tom tries to franchise the restaurant and loses a great deal of money, another example of his ambition getting ahead of his judgment.
A common mix-up is the Snake Hole Lounge, which Tom helps invest in earlier. “Tom’s Bistro” is the later restaurant associated directly with Tom’s own business career.
