In "Parks and Recreation," Ben Wyatt was the teenage mayor of Partridge, a fictional town in Minnesota. He won the election at age 18 after leading what he called an anti-establishment voter rebellion, but his brief administration became a cautionary tale about inexperienced leadership and reckless public spending.
Ben launched a winter-sports complex called Ice Town, a project that was never completed and helped bankrupt Partridge. He was impeached after only two months in office. The disaster followed him for years, producing the humiliating newspaper headline “Ice Town Costs Ice Clown His Town Crown.”
Ben later becomes an accountant and state auditor, eventually joining the Pawnee storyline alongside Chris Traeger. His financial expertise and past political failure explain both his caution with budgets and his discomfort when people ask about his mayoral record. “Partridge” is also the title of an episode in which Ben returns to his hometown. The other options are misleading: Eagleton is Pawnee's fictional neighboring town, while Duluth and Cedar Rapids are real places.
