In Pacific Rim, the Jaeger piloted by Raleigh Becket and Mako Mori is Gipsy Danger.
Gipsy Danger is an American Mark-3 Jaeger, a giant human-controlled combat machine built to fight kaiju emerging from the interdimensional Breach. Raleigh and Mako operate it through a neural connection called the Drift.
The Jaeger’s name is spelled “Gipsy” in the film and its official material, rather than the more common spelling “Gypsy.” It is a deliberate in-universe designation and should not be silently corrected when identifying the machine.
Other Jaegers include Australia’s Striker Eureka, Russia’s Cherno Alpha, and China’s Crimson Typhoon. Gipsy Danger is distinguished by its human pilots, nuclear-powered systems, and blue plasma weaponry.
