In Norse mythology’s Ragnarök, Magni and Móði inherit the hammer Mjölnir.
Mjölnir is Thor’s famous hammer, forged by the dwarfs Brokkr and Sindri in one of the best-known Norse myths. It returns to Thor’s hand after being thrown and is used against giants and other enemies. During Ragnarök, Thor kills the world serpent Jörmungandr but dies from its venom.
After the catastrophe, Thor’s sons Magni and Móði survive and possess Mjölnir. Their inheritance symbolizes continuity between the old divine order and the renewed world. The hammer is therefore not simply lost when Thor dies.
The spelling Mjölnir reflects modern transliteration; Old Norse forms include Mjǫllnir. Marvel adaptations popularized the object worldwide, but the mythological account comes from medieval Icelandic sources.
