In Norse mythology’s Ragnarok, two sons of Thor survive the final battle.
The surviving sons are Magni and Móði. After Ragnarok, they are described as inheriting Thor’s hammer, Mjölnir, preserving a connection to the thunder god’s power in the renewed world. Their survival is part of the mythic transition from the old generation of gods to a new one.
Magni is especially prominent elsewhere in Norse mythology: as a child, he helps free Thor from the giant Hrungnir’s leg after Thor kills him. Móði is less extensively described in the surviving sources, but both sons are linked with the post-Ragnarok divine order.
This detail is easy to confuse with the surviving sons of Odin, Vidar and Váli, or with the gods Baldr and Höðr, who return after the catastrophe. Those are separate groups within the renewal narrative.
