Höðr is the blind god who returns after Ragnarok alongside Baldr in Norse mythology.
Höðr is best known for accidentally killing Baldr after Loki gives him a mistletoe projectile. Because Höðr is blind, Loki guides his hand during the episode, turning a tragic act into part of Loki’s wider destruction of the divine order.
In the account of the renewed world, Baldr and Höðr return from the realm of the dead. Their reunion is striking because the two gods were connected by the death that helped set Ragnarok in motion.
The name appears in several modern spellings, including Hod, Hoth, and Höder. Höðr should not be confused with Týr, who loses a hand to Fenrir, or Heimdall, who fights Loki at Ragnarok.
