In Marvel Comics, what is Peter Parker’s middle name?
Answer
Benjamin
Answer
Benjamin
In Marvel Comics, Peter Parker’s middle name is Benjamin.
Spider-Man’s full name is Peter Benjamin Parker. He was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko and first appeared in Amazing Fantasy #15 in 1962. The character is a teenager from Queens, New York, who gains spider-like abilities after being bitten by a radioactive spider.
The name Benjamin is also shared with Peter’s uncle, Benjamin Parker, better known as Uncle Ben. Uncle Ben’s death after Peter fails to stop a fleeing thief becomes the formative tragedy behind Spider-Man’s moral commitment to responsibility. The famous lesson associated with that origin is often shortened to “with great power comes great responsibility.”
Peter’s middle name is less prominent than his first and last names, so it is sometimes omitted in casual references. It should not be confused with Ben Reilly, a clone of Peter Parker who later uses the Spider-Man identity in Marvel stories.
