In “Madagascar 3,” Dubois gets arrested in Rome. Captain Chantel DuBois, a relentless French animal-control officer, follows Alex and the other escaped zoo animals across Europe while trying to return them to New York.
The arrest happens during the Rome section of the story, after DuBois pursues the animals and causes trouble with local police. She is taken into custody but soon escapes, using information about Alex to continue the hunt. Meanwhile, the animals perform with the traveling circus near Rome’s Colosseum before moving on to London.
A common mix-up is Monte Carlo, where the animals first cross paths with DuBois during the film’s chase. They also travel through France and later visit London, but Rome is the city connected with DuBois’s arrest. The film eventually turns the pursuit around: the penguins capture DuBois and her men and send them away in crates bound for Madagascar, echoing the animals’ own earlier journey.
