In LEGO Fortnite, compatible outfits are converted into minifigures.

When players enter a LEGO Fortnite island, an outfit with a supported LEGO Style is represented as a LEGO minifigure. The character remains recognizable, but its proportions, clothing details, and animations are adapted to the smaller LEGO-inspired world.

LEGO Fortnite debuted in December 2023 as a collaboration between Epic Games and The LEGO Group. At launch, more than 1,200 Fortnite outfits had LEGO versions, with additional styles planned afterward. The conversion applies only when an outfit is compatible; not every Fortnite outfit automatically receives a LEGO form.

This is more specific than calling the result an avatar or sprite. “Avatar” is a broad term for a player character, while “sprite” generally refers to a two-dimensional game image.
