Answer
Armenelos
Answer
Armenelos
In J.R.R. Tolkien’s mythology, the capital city of Númenor is Armenelos.
Armenelos, also called Armenelos the Golden, stood on the western island of Númenor. It was the seat of the Númenórean kings and contained the royal palace, the King’s House, as well as the White Tree of Númenor.
Númenor was a kingdom granted by the Valar to the Men who had opposed Morgoth in the First Age. Its people became renowned for their longevity, maritime skill, learning, and power. Over time, fear of death and resentment toward the immortal Eldar contributed to Númenor’s decline.
Armenelos should not be confused with Osgiliath or Minas Tirith, which are cities of Gondor in Middle-earth. It is also distinct from Alqualondë, a major harbor of the Teleri Elves in Aman. Númenor was destroyed in the Downfall, but its survivors founded the realms of Arnor and Gondor.
