In Johnny Mnemonic (1995), Ice-T’s hacker character is named J-Bone.
J-Bone is a member of the Lo-Teks, an underground resistance group living in a technologically saturated future. He helps Johnny, a data courier played by Keanu Reeves, when Johnny becomes the target of criminals and corporations seeking information stored in his mind.
The character is sometimes confused with Jones, the cybernetically enhanced dolphin, or with Spider, the doctor and fixer associated with the Lo-Teks. Those are separate characters. J-Bone is specifically the hacker played by Ice-T.
Johnny Mnemonic was directed by Robert Longo and released in 1995. The film is based on William Gibson’s 1981 short story, which helped popularize cyberpunk ideas before the movie adaptation appeared.
