In Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, what is Indiana Jones’s father’s first name?

The story behind the answer

In Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Indiana Jones’s father’s first name is Henry.

The character is Professor Henry Jones, Sr., a scholar who has devoted much of his life to researching the Holy Grail. His obsession with the Grail creates tension with his son, whose fieldwork and adventurous methods seem very different from his father’s academic approach.

The third Indiana Jones film makes their strained relationship part of the central story. After Henry is kidnapped by Walter Donovan’s agents, Indiana must work with him to follow the clues left by the medieval knight who guarded the Grail. Their journey gradually turns into a reconciliation between father and son.

Sean Connery played Henry Jones, Sr., while Harrison Ford played Indiana Jones. The film was released in 1989 and is set largely in 1938, shortly before the Second World War.
