In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Frank Dillane plays the teenage Tom Riddle.

Dillane appears in the memory sequence where a young Albus Dumbledore visits Tom Riddle at the orphanage. The scene shows Riddle as an unusually controlled and unsettling child who already understands that he is different and has begun experimenting with his abilities.

The film uses several actors for Riddle at different ages. Hero Fiennes Tiffin plays the eleven-year-old version, while Ralph Fiennes plays the adult Lord Voldemort. Frank Dillane was the son of actor Stephen Dillane, who played Bill Nighy’s character’s colleague in other screen work, but he was cast specifically as the teenage Riddle for this film.
