In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, which actor plays the adult Harry Potter in the epilogue?

The story behind the answer

In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, Daniel Radcliffe plays the adult Harry Potter in the epilogue.

The film ends with a sequence set 19 years after the Battle of Hogwarts. Harry and Ginny Weasley take their children to King’s Cross station, where their son Albus Severus is preparing to board the Hogwarts Express. Radcliffe plays Harry with aging makeup and visual effects to distinguish the epilogue from the main story.

Rupert Grint plays the adult Ron Weasley, while Emma Watson plays the adult Hermione Granger. Tom Felton plays the adult Draco Malfoy. These actors therefore appear in the same future sequence, which can make cast questions easy to confuse.

The epilogue shows the next generation continuing the Hogwarts tradition. Harry’s scar is no longer painful, and his family’s calm departure contrasts with the danger that dominates much of the film. The movie was released in 2011 and was the eighth and final film in the main Harry Potter series.
