In "Happy Feet", who is the penguin who can't sing?

In "Happy Feet," Mumble is the penguin who cannot sing.

Mumble is an emperor penguin whose colony expects every male to perform a distinctive “heartsong,” the vocal expression used to attract a mate. Unlike the other penguins, Mumble cannot carry a tune, which makes him an outsider and causes the elders to view him as defective. His parents also worry that he will never find a partner.

Mumble's special talent is not musical singing but tap dancing. His rhythmic footwork becomes his own form of self-expression and eventually helps the colony recognize that individuality can be valuable. The story uses his exclusion to explore conformity, family expectations and environmental concerns, including the decline of fish around Antarctica.

The 2006 film features Elijah Wood as Mumble and won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. Viewers sometimes remember Mumble as simply a poor singer, but the story is more specific: he is unable to sing a heartsong at all, while dancing is the ability that sets him apart.
