In Halo Wars, what is the name of the UNSC Spirit of Fire’s commanding officer?

In Halo Wars, the UNSC Spirit of Fire’s commanding officer is Captain James Cutter.

Cutter commands the Spirit of Fire during its campaign against the Covenant and the Flood. The game is set in 2531, 21 years before the events of Halo: Combat Evolved, making it one of the earliest major stories in the Halo chronology.

The Spirit of Fire is a colony-support and transport ship that is converted into a military asset during the conflict. Cutter works with Sergeant John Forge and Professor Ellen Anders as the crew investigates a Forerunner facility and the Covenant’s plans.

Captain Cutter should not be confused with Captain Jacob Keyes, who commands the Pillar of Autumn in Halo: Combat Evolved. Cutter also appears in later Halo fiction connected to the Spirit of Fire and its crew.
