In Halo Infinite, the Halo ring explored by Master Chief is Installation 07.

Installation 07 is better known as Zeta Halo. It is one of the original, larger Halo installations built by the Forerunners, unlike the smaller replacement rings seen in earlier games. Halo Infinite takes place on the damaged ring after a major battle between the UNSC and the Banished.

The ring’s open-ended landscape allows Master Chief to move between story missions and optional activities. The environment includes Forerunner structures, Banished bases, wreckage, caves, and wide outdoor regions. Its condition is a major part of the game’s setting and mystery, while the surviving fragments reflect the damage caused before the campaign begins.

Installation 07 is not the same ring as Installation 04, the setting of much of Combat Evolved, or Installation 05, associated with Halo 2. Installation 09 is a replacement ring connected with the Ark. The canonical designation for Infinite’s main setting is Installation 07.
