In Greek mythology, how long did the Titanomachy, Zeus’s war against the Titans, last?

The story behind the answer

In Greek mythology, the Titanomachy, Zeus’s war against the Titans, lasted ten years.

The conflict began after Zeus led the younger gods in rebellion against Cronus and the older Titan generation. The two sides fought for control of the cosmos, with the Titans generally associated with Mount Othrys and Zeus’s forces with Mount Olympus.

Zeus strengthened his side by freeing the Cyclopes and the Hecatoncheires from Tartarus. The Cyclopes forged his thunderbolt, Poseidon’s trident, and Hades’ helmet of invisibility. The Hecatoncheires, each possessing one hundred hands, helped overwhelm the Titans by hurling huge numbers of stones.

After the Titans were defeated, many were imprisoned in Tartarus, while Atlas received the punishment of holding up the sky. The Titanomachy is distinct from the later Gigantomachy, the war between the Olympian gods and the Giants.
