In Goodfellas (1990), which actor played mob associate Henry Hill?
Answer
Ray Liotta
Answer
Ray Liotta
Ray Liotta played mob associate Henry Hill in Goodfellas (1990).
Directed by Martin Scorsese, the crime film adapts Nicholas Pileggi’s nonfiction book Wiseguy. It follows Henry Hill from his youth in Brooklyn through his involvement with the Lucchese crime family and his eventual cooperation with the FBI.
Liotta’s performance provides the film’s central viewpoint. Henry narrates much of the story, allowing the audience to see the excitement, violence, luxury and paranoia of organized-crime life from inside the group.
Robert De Niro played Jimmy Conway, while Joe Pesci played Tommy DeVito. A common mix-up is identifying De Niro or Pesci as the lead because both received major attention for their performances; Pesci won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
Goodfellas premiered at the Venice Film Festival in September 1990 and became one of the most influential gangster films of its era. Liotta later appeared in films including Field of Dreams and Hannibal.
