In Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, what is the name of the first world?
Answer
Lost Mangroves
Answer
Lost Mangroves
The first world in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is Lost Mangroves. It introduces the game’s island-hopping structure through a lush mangrove setting before the Kongs move on to other themed regions.
The adventure begins when the Snowmads, a group of arctic invaders led by Lord Fredrik, freeze Donkey Kong Island during Donkey Kong’s birthday celebration. Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong, and Cranky Kong are blown away and must travel across several islands to reclaim their home. Lost Mangroves is the opening stage of that journey, not the frozen island itself.
Players sometimes confuse Lost Mangroves with Juicy Jungle, which is a later world, or with individual level names within the opening area. The game was developed by Retro Studios as a direct sequel to Donkey Kong Country Returns. Its original Wii U release arrived in 2014, while the enhanced Nintendo Switch version followed in 2018 and added Funky Mode, making Funky Kong playable.
