Bruno Campos provided the original English voice of Prince Naveen in Disney’s The Princess and the Frog.
Prince Naveen is the visiting prince of Maldonia who becomes central to the film’s fairy-tale plot. After being transformed into a frog by the magician Dr. Facilier, he meets Tiana, and their attempt to break the spell leads them through the Louisiana bayou. Campos voiced Naveen’s dialogue and singing in the original English version.
Anika Noni Rose voiced Tiana, Disney’s first African-American princess. The film was directed by Ron Clements and John Musker and released in 2009, marking Disney’s return to traditionally animated feature filmmaking after several computer-animated productions.
Keith David voiced Dr. Facilier, while Michael-Leon Wooley voiced Louis, the trumpet-playing alligator. The score and songs were written by Randy Newman, including “Almost There” and “Down in New Orleans.” A frequent mix-up is identifying Keith David as Naveen because Dr. Facilier is another prominent male character, but David voices the villain, not the prince.
