In Disney's The Great Mouse Detective, what is the name of the villainous mouse professor?

In Disney's The Great Mouse Detective, the villainous mouse professor is Professor Ratigan.

Ratigan is an ambitious criminal mastermind who plans to overthrow the mouse monarchy in London. He serves as the principal enemy of Basil of Baker Street, the detective who investigates the kidnapping of a toymaker and uncovers Ratigan's larger scheme.

Vincent Price provided Ratigan's original English voice. The character is inspired partly by Professor Moriarty, Sherlock Holmes's famous nemesis, while Basil himself parallels Holmes and Dr. Dawson parallels Watson.

Ratigan is not simply a rat despite his name and appearance; the film's characters debate whether he is a mouse or rat, and his title is consistently Professor Ratigan. The 1986 movie draws loosely from Eve Titus's Basil of Baker Street book series.
