Lea Salonga performs Mulan’s original English singing voice in Disney’s Mulan.
Ming-Na Wen provides Mulan’s speaking voice, while Salonga sings the character’s musical numbers, including “Reflection,” “Honor to Us All,” and “A Girl Worth Fighting For.” This division allowed Disney to use different performers for dialogue and demanding vocal passages.
Salonga had already supplied the singing voice of Princess Jasmine in Aladdin, making her a particularly important Disney musical performer. A frequent mistake is naming Wen, because she is Mulan’s English voice overall; however, the question asks specifically about singing. Salonga also played the Broadway role of Kim in Miss Saigon.
