In Disney’s High School Musical, what is the name of Troy and Gabriella’s school?

In Disney’s High School Musical, Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez attend East High School.

The 2006 Disney Channel musical follows basketball captain Troy and academically gifted transfer student Gabriella as they audition for their school musical. Their shared interest in singing disrupts the expectations held by their classmates and friends.

East High is presented as a fictional school in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The setting supports the film’s central contrast between basketball, academic competition, and musical theater. The school name remains central throughout the original trilogy.

The film was shot primarily in Utah, including at the real East High School in Salt Lake City. That building became strongly associated with the franchise and later served as the setting for High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.
