In Disney's Aladdin, the princess Aladdin falls in love with is Jasmine.
Jasmine is the daughter of the Sultan of Agrabah and the film's principal heroine. She is frustrated by royal restrictions and wants to choose her own future rather than marry a prince selected by tradition. After leaving the palace in disguise, she meets Aladdin in the marketplace, beginning the central romance.
Jasmine is notable for challenging the expectations placed on her as a princess. She eventually helps expose Jafar's deception and becomes an active participant in the film's resolution. A common mix-up is confusing her with other Disney princesses such as Belle or Esmeralda. Jasmine's original English speaking voice was provided by Linda Larkin, while Lea Salonga sang her songs.
