In Disney's Aladdin, what is the name of the magic object that contains the Genie?

The story behind the answer

In Disney's Aladdin, the magic object that contains the Genie is a magic lamp.

The lamp is the central enchanted object in the 1992 animated film. Aladdin retrieves it from the Cave of Wonders, and rubbing it releases the Genie, who explains that the lamp's owner receives three wishes. Jafar later steals the lamp, briefly gaining control of the Genie and using that power to become Sultan and then an immense sorcerer.

The magic lamp comes from the broader Middle Eastern and South Asian storytelling tradition associated with “Aladdin,” especially its appearance in later versions of One Thousand and One Nights. Disney's film adds musical comedy, a faster adventure structure, and Robin Williams's celebrated performance as the Genie. The lamp should not be confused with the magic carpet, which is another enchanted object but does not contain the Genie.
