In Disney's A Goofy Movie, Max's favorite pop star is Powerline.
Powerline is a fictional superstar whose concert gives Max a goal during the road trip with his father, Goofy. Max hopes to reach the concert and imitate the singer's stage performance, while Goofy struggles to connect with his increasingly independent son.
The character is voiced by musician Tevin Campbell, who also performs Powerline's songs. The concert numbers “Stand Out” and “I2I” became especially associated with the film and later developed a strong fan following.
Powerline is not a real-world performer and should not be confused with Bobby Zimmeruski, one of Max's friends, or Roxanne, Max's classmate and crush. The character's fictional celebrity status is central to the movie's story about family and adolescence.
