In Deadpool 2, Deadpool’s superhero team is called X-Force.
Deadpool forms X-Force to rescue Russell Collins, a young mutant also known as Firefist, from a prison transport. The group is presented as an improvised team of mutants and other fighters recruited by Deadpool, with Domino among its most important members.
The film uses the team’s introduction for deliberate comedic effect. Several recruits die soon after attempting a parachute landing, while Domino survives and demonstrates her mutant ability to influence probability. Despite its chaotic beginning, X-Force later plays a role in the film’s attempt to protect Russell and change his future.
X-Force is a Marvel mutant team name that predates the film. In Marvel Comics, it was strongly associated with Cable and began as a more militant successor to the New Mutants. Deadpool 2’s version is therefore an adaptation of an established name, not the same lineup as the comic-book team.
